It deals with a severe dilemma of enterprises in balancing the freedom of the users to use the Internet and imposing restrictions on the users to prevent data leakage. We know that the Internet is a powerful resource but can be a hazard leading to confidential data leakage or cyberattack.
Businesses use the Internet as a resource for banking, GST, logistics, bids, company growth, research, data sharing, remote access, and many other things. It calls for allowing Internet access to the users. The availability of the Internet to users attracts many hazards, which may affect severe problems like data leakage and timepass activities to the businesses using the resources.
Traditional solutions like firewalls and proxy servers attempt to solve this problem using Internet content filters, website safelists, or denylists. There exist two problems that make traditional solutions ineffective in breaking this dilemma. The first problem is about the efficacy of the content filter, and another problem is about remote users who are not in the coverage of a firewall or proxy server. Easy access to mobile hotspots multiply the hazardous effect of misuse of the Internet.
The accuracy of content filters for billions of websites is too much to expect from the technology, and it is bound to fall short of data leakage prevention. Also, when the remote or traveling user is not inside the network of a firewall or proxy server, there will be zero protection and leakage prevention. The same holds true when the user connects to the Internet through a mobile hotspot.
This innovation of Magic Browser breaks this dilemma and resolves both problems or, in other words, ensures data leakage prevention without limiting the use of the Internet as a resource.
We are delighted to launch the technology and explain how it gives business customers access to the Internet without the risk of time-wasting or data leakage. We have developed unique data isolation technology that makes file servers, storage systems, and firewalls communicate with one another and take intelligent actions to isolate the data. It works like this. When the users are working on confidential data on file servers or storage servers, the file server communicates to the firewall to limit Internet access to minimum required websites that do not pose any data leakage possibilities. They are like Banking, GST, Taxes, Standards, Logistics, etc. When users attempt to open any website that is not permitted per the list of minimum required websites, such as cloud drives, personal emails, and FTP sites, the user is forced to use the magic browser. As soon as the users access the magic browser, the firewall communicates to the file or storage server, following which the access to the confidential data is isolated. Thus the user cannot have access to confidential data to leak. At the same time, the user has the freedom to use the Internet for research or business development purposes.
